How To Free Yourself From Anxiety With These 5 Easy Habits

I once thought that good grades and a college degree would make me happy. I was an A student and got all the degrees. Yes, I was happy but only temporary.

I once thought that traveling the world would make me happy. I love to travel and have been to many countries. Yes, I was happy but only temporary.

I once thought that getting a great job would make me happy. I got the job and it did make me happy but only temporary.

You see, I learned that everything I did to be happy had an expiration date.

So I did some thinking, meditating and reading, and realized that it was my mindset that prevented me from unleashing my inner power and permission to become my best self.

I changed my mindset about the meaning of life and what it means to be happy, successful and fulfilled.

I learned that happiness is a choice.

I learned to live an authentic life that is aligned with my values.

I learned to live with intention and purpose each day.

I choose to walk the path never traveled, to be my own heroine, to educate, inspire and empower myself and others to live authentic lives and strive to achieve our full potential.

Therefore, I choose:

  • To be present

  • To appreciate what I already have

  • To be responsible

  • To be accountable

  • To be kind

  • To show up

  • To help others

  • To be grateful

  • To do meaningful work

  • To live with intention “WHY”

  • To be healthy – mind-body and soul

  • To be proactive

  • To be with happy, and surrounded by positive people

  • To remove negativity from my life

  • To practice mindfulness meditation

  • To practice self-care on a daily basis

  • To forgive often and fast

  • To let go and move on

  • To prioritize each day

  • To grow each day

  • To improve each day and record my progress

  • To read each day and feed my brain with amazing knowledge

  • To make time for friends and relationships

Happiness happens by choice not chance.

It is all about the choices we make each day.

Each of us can develop the habits for a fulfilling, happier life.

Implement these habits and you'll see changes immediately:

1. A healthy lifestyle

“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.” – Jim Rohn

Everything we do depends on our health and how we feel about ourselves. If we are not healthy, we cannot enjoy life.

It’s simple, but NOT easy - you can do it: start a workout program today and commit to it.

Change your diet.

Join a support group.

You need a consistent workout routine, a healthy, nutritious and delicious diet and a support system.

2. Setting SMART Goals

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” Mae West

I plan my life around SMART goals – short term and long term.

I prioritize my priorities.

I plan my day using this: MIT ( most important things) = ROT (return on my time)

Our success depends on what we do EACH day NOT once in a while.

3.  No More Excuses

“It’s not about the cards you’re dealt, but how you play the hand.” – Randy Pausch

It’s not who you were but who you become.

Your life will forever change from the moment you become accountable and responsible for your actions.

Excuses will only prevent you from growing and becoming your best self.

Take action to improve your life 1% a day. Start there. Start today.

4. Growth Mindset = Happiness + Success

“The future belongs to those who learn new skills and combine them in creative ways.” – Robert Greene, Mastery

I asked my students/clients the other day “Is success predictable?

The answer was “NO”.

I instantly got worried, and without a second thought, we had a conversation about what success means and how we achieve it. I wanted to make sure my students understood that achieving success, no matter how one defines it,  it is “an inside job.” As Colin Powell said, ” …success is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.”

You make it happen just as all the other successful people have done it before you.

First, define success for yourself, be clear it is aligned with your values, then learn all about strategies and thinking systems successful people use and apply them to your life.  You’ll be amazed at the results. After all, you achieve what you believe. What do YOU Believe?

5. Give Up Toxic People, food, tv, and any other distractions

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” – Jim Rohn

The people in your life will add value to or take away value from your life. Look around your environment and see what changes you need to make today so tommorow will be better.

Don’t live by chance.

Live by design.

You deserve to be happy.

To your success,

Val
